  • Monitors radiation MPS-01 «KORDON-MN» (further monitor) is intended for the continuous measuring of level of radiation from the controlled object, comparison of the measured values with the level of base-line radiation, to signaling about exceeding of the measured values above a background. Registration and analysis of ionizing radiation in a monitor is carried out the method of comparison of radiation from the controlled object with the level of base-line radiation in the place of location of monitor without the direct measuring of numeral value.

    The monitor is used on the checkpoints for different purposes: road, rail and pedestrian border crossing points, crossing points of nuclear power plants, the nuclear-industrial complex of metallurgical enterprises, mining, processing and storage of radioactive and nuclear materials processing facilities and storage of radioactive waste, government agencies, banks, offices, etc.

    Monitor detects the radioactive substances and nuclear materials and signals that the controlled object radiation is exceeds the limits of the chosen threshold in relation to external radiation background.

    The monitor is a stationary device consisting of a structurally complete units:

    - radiation panels PR with gamma-radiation detection blocks BDPS;
    - controllers POI;
    - object sensors KBH;
    - radiation panels PR with neutron detection unit BDPN;
    - alarm unit BIC;
    - power supply unit BNN;
    - Industrial Panel PC PPC.

    Radiation panels for gamma-radiation are equipped with one of two detection units BDPS depending on the version of delivery. Each detection unit includes an organic scintillation detector sensitive volume which is 7000 cm3 or 12 500 cm3. In order to reduce the impact of natural gamma-background detector on three sides except the front, a lead shield is used.

    In the panels of radiation neutron radiation neutron detectors, as there are two 3He proportional counter of 800 cm3. Counters are placed in a moderator, made of polyethylene.

    An industrial panel PCs can be connected simultaneously to the four portals of radiation control. Each portal can contain from 2 to 8 radiation panels. Panel PC has the following standard ports and interfaces to connect peripheral equipment:

    - two serial ports RS-232;
    - parallel port PS/2;
    - USB port;
    - Mic-in/Line-out
    - Ethernet 10/100 Base-T.

    Panel PC is powered by an AC voltage 135 ... 242 V DC voltage or 24 V power supply BNN. In the case of the disappearance of the mains supply automatically switches the monitor powered by a built-in power supply and battery BNN for at least 8 hours fulfills its function. The battery is recharged automatically when the power supply. When utility power failure (in excess of the upper threshold voltage) in the block BNN automatically triggered protection. Re-starting the power supply is possible only after the cause of the accident by briefly pressing the button "Reset relay".

    BIC alarm unit is designed for light and sound alarm. BIC issues sound pressure level of 80 dB at 1 m.

    The object sensors KBH are designed to determine whether the object in a controlled area by crossing the last infrared ray. Arranged in pairs (receiver - transmitter) in the opposite panel of radiation measuring columns.

    Monitor MPS-01 "KORDON-MN" can be optionally equipped with a digital video surveillance system "Patriot".

    Radiation Monitors MPS-01 "Kordon-MN" issued in according to technical conditions ТУ У 33.2-19310157-017:2006. Technical conditions have passed sanitary-hygienic examination and agreed to Dnipropetrovsk Region SES (conclusion of the state sanitary-hygienic expertise № 9833 from 06.03.2006).

    The sensitivity of the detection unit of gamma radiation to radiation BDPS radionuclide, which is located in a fixed position on each door panel of radiation is at least (imp/s)/kBq:
